Before you read the enclosed information I would like to say that the concerns being addressed in our community have been identified early and information and response has been quick. We are very fortunate to live in a premier community and the recent events are not a reflection of what we have become. Instead the responses are true testimony to what we are. We have enjoyed a quiet, peaceable environment for many years and even though the issues affect a very small number of residents; they are cared about by all. Neighbors will confront challenges from time to time and we are no different. In this case we have an opportunity to be pro-active and take positive steps. Our goal is to identify concerns early, not allow the issues to grow, eliminate the problems and maintain the high quality of our community.
Over the last couple months many families within our community have raised many concerns. Permanent solutions often take time to establish. Some problems can be promptly addressed while others take time to assure long- term quality results. Despite the process we can safely say the concerns expressed by residents within the community have been taken seriously and the response has been swift and thorough. The efforts have been organized and have included presentations from various city officials, related organizations as well as community representation.
In early August residents became concerned with graffiti appearing in the community. A board member of the association contacted the Neighborhood Advisory Council for our area communities (“NAC 1”). The NAC serves as a volunteer liaison committee for residents to the city when issues of concern come up within the community. The NAC members quickly and efficiently organized a planning meeting on August 15. With approximately 50 plus people in attendance concerns and suggestions were presente d to the Police and Mayor’s Office.
September 14 in response to these concerns a second much larger community wide meeting was held and attended by some 200 plus people and was designed to respond to the initial issues raised by residents. Nac1 organized city officials and agencies to attend and address community concerns.
September 17 a group attended the HOA Board meeting with specific concerns related to association covenants and bi-laws. As a result an adhoc committee was formed consisting of HOA board members, NAC 1 and community representatives.
October 3 the ad-hoc committee met to begin reviewing areas of concern that can be addressed by our association, bi- laws and covenants.

As you can see, in total, much response and time has been given to resolving concerns raised by our families. The one consistent message at every meeting is that each and every resident is a part of the solution. Despite meetings, organizations and committee responses it is vital that each resident to take responsibility and a proactive role in assuring we maintain the quality of life and enjoyment we are entitled to as residents of this community.
For additional information, notification of meetings or to volunteer to get involved please contact the person appropriate to your interest and concerns. We continue to encourage each resident to do their part in resolving these issues. As part of the solution we are working to link information between representatives and agencies but we are not there yet. In many incidents it is recommended for you to notify more than one responsible party. We have created a contact list for you. It can easily be removed from this newsletter and kept as a reference sheet for your convenience.
