The Board of Directors of Whittier Community Association met at the Whittier Elementary School, Frederick, Maryland on November 22, 2010 at 7:20 p.m.

I. CALL TO ORDER |
|
Mr. Bill Watt, President of Whittier Community HOA called the annual meeting to order at 7:12pm with a quorum present.
- Roll Call and Certification of proxies:
A quorum of 150 was required and was surpassed and a large amount of residents attended. A quorum was met.
- Proof of notice of meeting or waiver of notice:
The fact that Management received a large amount of proxies and that residents attended is proof of notice.

II. READING AND DISPOSAL OF MINUTES PRECEDING MEETING, IF ANY:

The Board and the Residents discussed the need to approve the minutes.
Motion: Motion for the minutes to be approved.
Resident/Resident Vote: Unanimous

III. REPORTS OF OFFICERS, IF ANY:
|
|
- Report from the President:
The President mentioned several items:
- Condo building remains to be built. Ausherman is still looking for a company to build.
- Community is fairly healthy – some vandalism.
- The festival seems to go well.
- The lake alga is under control. The Board was able to get the City to continue the treatments.
- A committee for the Townhomes is forming.
- Web site - More documents will be put on the web site. All contact information are on the web.
- Shopping Center – have lost some businesses but it is transforming - a Sports Pub will be opening.
- Association meetings will be moved to the 4th Tuesday of the month.
- Thanked the ACC Committee for all the support that they give to us.

V. Election or appointment of inspectors of election.

VI. Election of Directors:
|
|
There are 4 Board positions available. There are 4 nominations. The nominees are: Eric Struntz, Bernarda Jackson, Michael Brown, and Gray Wass. There are three positions that have a three year term and one position that has a 1 year term remaining due to a resignation. There were over 150 proxies for Eric Struntz and Bernarda Jackson. It was determined they would receive three year terms. A vote was held to determine who would hold the other three year term. Gary Wass will hold the three year term and Michael Brown will hold the one year term.

VIII. New Business:
|
|
The Homeowners discussed issues with the Board.
- A homeowner’s house was firebombed. Fire Marshall investigated for 6 months. The Board and Management were unaware of the incident.
- Discussed a neighborhood watch. The Board told the Homeowners about the Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC). Whittier is in the NAC 1. They are good meetings to attend. The Board also advised the Homeowners to talk with their neighbors. Call the police when needed. The Homeowners asked if the pine trees in the common area at Dunmore and Wetherburn could be trimmed up from the bottom to elevate kids hiding in the trees.
- The Homeowners wanted to know how the Treasurer’s report faired. The Board discussed foreclosures and the difficulties that come with that.

There being no additional business the Annual Meeting was adjourned at 7:49 pm.
