Many thanks to Paul Zimnik, and the staff of the Whittier Homeowners Association, who organized the Whittier Lakeside Festival and National Night Out Against Crime, held on August 4th! It was a great opportunity for neighbors to get involved, and learn about protecting the community. It was a wonderful evening, with a fabulous turnout, and--no rain!

We want to thank you for stopping by our table, the Meredith Design Group, and hope you got a chance to visit with all of the vendors, and share your community spirit.

Speaking of a Night Out...are the clunker programs, health care issues, back-to-school spending, and higher gas prices stopping you from getting out of town?

Take a day trip--Redesign Your Home!

"The easiest way to feel like you've been traveling, is to redesign your home without going anywhere", says Laura Meredith of the Meredith Design Group. "By moving existing furnishings around, your tired space will get that renewed vacation look. Besides, it's the most affordable way to feel welcome in your own space again!"

Some think that redesigning is remodeling. The difference--thousands of dollars you don't have to shell out. In just a few hours, homeowners can achieve a new look by re-arranging furniture, wall art, and accessories. And, for a few dollars, add a splash of color to wake up the walls or floors.

For example, start with one room at a time. It could be a space where you want to spend time with family and friends. Remove as much as you can from the room, and set aside in a staging area. Now you see your bare walls. Is there enough natural light? You may want to add wall color to bring a warm and inviting feel to the room. Would you like to read here? Experiment with the furnishings you've set aside. You might love an old piece you forgot about after seeing it in a new light. Arrange the new seating in small groupings, for conversation. Add lamps, wall art, accessories, and bring in a little green. If you focus on the function, as well as the style, you will enjoy your new makeover!

If your space is tired, and needs a vacation, it's time--to redesign!

If you just can't find the time, consider the low-cost option of hiring a professional redesign specialist to create your new look. Or, to schedule an in-home or electronic consultation, redesign, or staging to sell, visit www.MeredithDesignGroup.com for more information.
