Single Family Home Addition Explanation

Below are some explanations of additions to single family homes that are allowed under the current ACC Guidelines.

I. Existing Home Plan

Addition

The home (50' x 50' in this simplified example) sits on a 100' x 110' lot.

II. New Addition in Back of House

Addition

The new addition can be up to 50' wide x 25' deep.

III. New Single Car Garage

Addition

The new single car garage can be approximately 15' wide and 25' deep.

IV. New Addition in Back of House Then the New Single Car Garage

Addition

The new single car garage can be approximately 15' wide and 25' deep after a 50' x 25' addition to back of house.

V. New Single Car Garage then New Addition in Back of House

Addition

First a new 15' x 25' garage is added. The new home width from the front is now 65'. If the homeowner now wants to add a new addition to their back yard, they may build that to be 65' wide and the they can add behind the new garage with a depth of 50'. The result would be expanding their original 50' x 50' home to now be 65' x 75'.

There are non-rectangular lots and positions of houses that are not square to their lots. The ACC and Board will evaluate these cases as residents request.
